An independent audit is an engagement in which an auditor provides a reasonable-assurance opinion on whether financial statements are prepared in accordance with the applicable financial reporting framework.

How do I know whether my company requires an audit?

The requirement depends on the company type, current statutory criteria and any sector-specific rules. Because regulations may change, each company should be assessed against the current requirements.
